Planning is underway for the 2017 New Haven Community Youth Fair. It will take place July 7-8.

Fair officials said many exciting events are planned for this year. Information and all forms for the Fair can be found at

Entry forms can be picked up at a number of sites in the area, including Peoples Savings Bank, Citizens Bank, Bank of Franklin County, New Haven Farm and Feed, Seitter’s Market and Save-A-Lot.

All forms can be mailed to NHCYF, P.O. Box 131, New Haven, MO 63068, or to a particular address listed on the form. Some events do require preregistration.

A Fair 5K Walk/Run will be held Saturday, July 8, at 7:30 a.m. Runners and walkers must preregister by June 26 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.

The entry fee is $15 for those who preregister and $20 the morning of the run. Morning registration will be held from 6:45 to 7:15 a.m. only.

Once again there will be three youth divisions and adult divisions are grouped in increments of four years starting at 20. The oldest division will be 60 and up.

Medals for adult divisions will only be given to the first-place male and female in each division. Forms are on the Fair website and at local businesses.

The Fair also will host a dog show Saturday, July 8, at 2 p.m. The queen and her court will judge the dogs. Awards will be given for Best Costume, Best Personality and Best Trick.
