January programs at the Scenic Regional Library branch in New Haven are as follows:

A La Leche League of Franklin County consultant will be on hand Saturday, Jan. 21, at 10:30 am. She will be available to answer any questions new moms may have about nursing their babies. Registration is not necessary.

The Book Club will meet Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 5 to 6 p.m. The discussion will be on “The Forty Rules of Love” A Novel of Rumi” by Elif Shafak. People may stop by the branch to check out a copy.

All are welcome for the book discussion. Meetings are held each month on the fourth Wednesday.

A presentation on Reality, Risks and Response to Climate Change will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Old New Haven School, 810 Maupin Ave.

Preschool Storytime for kids up to kindergarten age happens each Tuesday at 10 a.m. and on the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. On Jan. 21, children will hear stories about winter fun, along with songs, finger plays and crafts.

Also on Jan. 21, Read, Build and Play will start at 11 a.m. The theme is Amazing Science. Kids will enjoy a story and hands-on activities with a science focus.
