Both lanes of the new Highway 47 bridge over the Missouri River opened Monday after 2 p.m.
Northbound traffic was shifted from the old bridge to the new bridge Monday afternoon, about five hours after southbound traffic was switched.
State transportation officials said the switch to the new Highway 47 bridge over the Missouri River will occur Monday, Dec. 3, morning.
Southbound traffic will mover over first. It is anticipated that four to six hours later the northbound traffic will switch to the new bridge.
Striping on the bridge driving lanes began shortly after the grand opening ceremony Saturday.
See the Wednesday edition of The Missourian for extensive bridge opening coverage.
