Teens, and adults too, won’t want to miss the opportunity to hear a book talk by Captain Steve Copling, this Friday, April 21, from 7-9 p.m. at St. Clair High School.
The author, a St. Clair High School graduate, who now lives in Texas, will read from, and conduct a Q and A, on his young adult book, “Sage Alexander and the Hall of Nightmares,” published by Brown Books Publishing Group.
Copling’s new book is his first foray into young adult fantasy, and serves as the foundation for a 7-book series based on the seven deadly sins. The book came about because his grandson, Sage, asked Captain Copling to write a book for him for Christmas.
Copling also is the author of two crime novels, “The Listener” and “The Shooting Season.” His knowledge and background of police procedure inform his writing as he draws from his experience when writing crime fiction. Copling has 35-plus-years in law enforcement.
At the event, the audience will be invited to experience the virtual reality based on the book and view the book’s trailer. The audience also can meet the star of the trailer, Gavin Casalegno, an actor who was in “Noah,” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
There is no charge to attend the book talk, and copies of Copling’s book will be available for purchase.
