Washcitizen - I actually contacted the Missouri Police Chief's Association and spoke with their executive director who assured me that they are fully aware of what occurred, have made sure that there are procedures in place to prevent it from happening again and said that Chief Hahn is a true professional and runs a tight ship (for the record the incidents that we are referring to did not occur on Chief Hahn's watch). Washcitizen - Thanks for the information, I'll check out their webpage and maybe even contact them. The incidents that I'm referring to happened some time ago, but where just brought to the attention of Mayor Lucy, Chief Hahn, Jim Briggs, and a few others earlier this year. Stuff that could really embarrass the city and would have ended in termination of employment of the lieutenant, had it been brought up in a more timely manner. I'm probably already pushing the limit here, but very inappropriate things....6 months ago
While I do think accreditation is a wonderful thing, I would have to say that the department has some serious issues, that haven’t been fully resolved, issues that the entire city leadership has recently been made aware of, concerning one of their lieutenants. At this point, I don’t want to go into the dreadful details, but there are others (some current and previous employees of the police department as well as some very outstanding citizens of Washington) that are very aware of what I’m referring to……6 months ago
