I have been paying real estate taxes in this county for over 40 years and what have i received from the county government, mostly a potholed road. lol As for taxes themselves the majority is school taxes, i haven't had a child in school for over 40 years. yet i have renters in the area with 3 or more kids in the families who pay no real estate taxes! I have seen the taxes go up in a depressed economy, my home lost it's value and greasy's idea is to raise taxes. I don't feel like being like a blank check for the powers that be! ok greasy this ain"t the way to do it! i got laid off at 62 years old and had to now live on social security. my property taxes went up last time even though my property value went down. How in your right mind can you say increase property taxes on devalued property! Worst possible timing! Bad move politically, how about cutting some of you alls perks and over inflated salary!!!!!May 6, 2012
