If God is going to protect our children lets make sure he's armed with a Colt 45. Wishing and praying bad guys away won't work.

The term "legitimate rape" is used in law enforcement all the time. It is used to differentiate between a rape that actually happened versus one that is reported but is bogus. It never happened. On occasion women report a rape when in fact they are seeking revenge against a former lover, they were not paid or they were caught by their husband or boyfriend and report rape to cover up their promiscuity. Most reported rapes are bogus. The term does not mean that it is sometimes legitimate to rape. Apparently no one else in this country has ever heard the term before and became outraged over hearing this without explanation. I am in no way siding with Akin. I think he is a whack job. Very few people voted for Akin, they were voting against McCaskill. Very seldom do we ever get to vote for someone we think is qualified or will do a good job for us. Mostly we vote for the person we perceive as the best of the worst. There is nothing wrong with Franklin County. (At least in this instance.) To re-cap rape can never be legal (as in saying it is legitimate to rape"0, however some rapes never happened and are not legitimate in the sense that it never occured as initially reported.

I have a Jeep Cherokee that I drive in the winter. Call me when your humvee gets stuck and I'll pull you out (for a fee). The hummer is too big for most off road trails and won't fit in the woods very well. But still a good tool and cops love toys like this. (twin 60's on the roof anyone?)7 months ago
If you are a Washington resident you should be proud that your police department is accreditated. It's a standard of excellence that must be maintained. If you think it's nothing more than a piece of paper you know nothing. If you take the time to research the qualifications for accreditation you will quickly learn it's much more than a piece of paper. Cudos to the Chief and his men for putting forth the tremendous effort it takes to obtain this standard of professionalism.

I was in Wal Mart today and a lady selling Sam Club's memberships touched my arm. OH NO! Could she be related to this man in the ditch? Perhaps we should keep an eye on her too.8 months ago
It would have taken Judge Wood eight months to make a decision if the election had been eight months away instead of seven. Coincidence? I think not! Jury trials seem to interfer with a judge's preceived entitlement to make his own decision.
SO now we know there is a waiting period if one who murders wishes to avoid the death penality. Just exactly how long should a murder wait before dis-membering a body so if caught he will receive live in prison?
Judge's totally dis-regarding the decision of a jury is common practice. We only hear about it in high profile cases. In most instances the decision is made months after the trial and we never hear about it..9 months ago
Oh how I'd love to spend a day with Captain Ripa and listen to his stories. We owe so much to these vets.

Troops have been taking photos of themselves with dead enemy soldiers since the camera was invented. It's a moral booster for the troops. We send them to the other side of the world to kill people. Why should they be ashamed or embarrassed when they do their job well?Apr 25, 2012
The jury gave Loggins the death sentence. Why do we even have jury trials if the judge makes the actual decision? I guess a jury gives the judge an idea of what the community wants but he can totally disregard their verdict. It's a waste of the jurors time when 12 people can make a decision in hours and a judge can't make one in months. If a person in any other profession took this long to make a decision they probably wouldn't last long. Hopefully the judge will have the courage to do the right thing and agree with the 12 citizens of Franklin County and sentence Loggins to death. No wonder people don't want to serve on jurys. They take this responsibility very seriously and then one man hee haws around for months and can change their verdict at will and they are left to wonder why they even made the effort.Apr 20, 2012
