I believe it is time for John an the rest of the Franklin county commission leaders to resign. First you oversaw the terrible waste of tax payers money with repave road project. Now you say you want to sue to allow prayer. When are you going to focus 100% of your attention on your job. It is time for you to go away. Apr 5, 2012
Labadie: really if the parents are paying 100% of the cost for the preschool when why is there a line item in the school district budget
Why is it if someone points out something or asks a questions or dare disagree that they are called names - said not to care about the children. Myself I personally have had to drastically reduce both my business an personal spending to offset lost income over the last 4 years. The school has done some nice things in this regard but not nearly enough nor did they or the school board react to the problem quick enough.
The other thing I question an cannot get a clear answner on is since 2004 the total number of high school students that Washington has turned in to MSHSAA has decreased from roughly 1650 to a little over 1400. That's a decrease on avg of 50 plus students per grade. But the school an school board keeps complaining they are out of room. Since that number has been trending down for 8 years I feel that maybe growth has leveled off in the area. I am opened minded an would love to have anyone help me change my mind by answering these questions concernsApr 5, 2012
I am glad the bond issue failed. I have asked the school board an the school district these questions an they have declined to explain.
1 They keep saying they haven't asked for any increase in 20 yrs. Please explain where the money came from to purchase the ground off Hwy 100, the church an preschool off Hwy 47 which then couldn't be used for it's intended purpose, the old hazel building
2 Why did they pay above market price for all 3 of the above mention
3. How much empty space is there still at the hazel building. A quick walk thru an estimate puts it at about 20-25%
4. When they moved the voctech classes to the hazel building how many actual class rooms for students were picked an how many rooms were converted to additional or new offices for admin.
5. When did it become the tax payers problem to pay for preschool. If it is in the best interest of having children from Age 2-5 Attend then shouldn't those parents pay for those services. Did most if not all of us have to pay babysitters for our children during those years.
I will not vote yes until I get these things answered an until the admin starts telling the WHOLE truth not just bits an piecesApr 4, 2012
