After ready this article and seeing the local TV media coverage, it seems to me that Pastor Darnell is seeking media coverage to announce his sexual preferences. Not a member of St. John's UCC sent out a letter announcing the "discrimination", he did, personally. When he didn't get it with the first letter, he sent another one to all local media outlets. I feel like he is trying to force his personal agenda to our town and he's using this softball situation to do it! By going to local & liberal TV stations, he will get the "empathy" he's looking for and, in the process, make another mark against our town.
I feel, as a Christian, this situation is deplorable. The Bible is very plain about homosexuality - it's an "abomination". I applaud all the churches that have not given to a "forced" acceptance. Our society's political correctness has so weakened our churches, schools, politics & has only weakened our country as a whole. It is my prayer that we, as Christians, pray for this pastor and his church and that we continue to stand on our Biblical beliefs.
