It would also make it a LOT safer if parents parked their cars and walked with their children. 7 months ago
Wow, You really couldn't be further from the truth. IF you knew me you like my friends and family would know I am one of the most positive upbeat people you can meet. I have a love for our city and think it is going great places. I do however speak my peace and when I see an issue that I don't agree with I lay it out there.
I also read back through my comments and find most of them not negative sorry if MY opinion offends, but I will not curb my opinon to be with the hurd as most do. I have my opinion like everyone else.Mar 13, 2012
Sorry his salary was to high before and to give hime a raise with extra money we got in is crazy! Spend that money on our kids, get some books so they all have their own anything but give another administrator another dollar! It was totally acceptable to our district to freeze the teachers pay but when Mr. Murphy starts looking other places we jump through hoops to keep him, I'm sorry if he's looking and interviewing other places then let him go. It sounds like our school board and district need a reality check, 2 assistant superintendents and 1 superintendent, 2 principles at each school regardless their size......all too much adminstration that money could be going to our teachers who deserve it!Mar 8, 2012
In addition to people paying attention and not being afraid to call the cops when something looks fishy patrols need to be stepped up! I don't care how it's done or budgeted for but our vehicle was broken into and so were a LOT of others in our neighborhood. If we can't get more officers then we need to at least take the one constantly sitting on the service road waiting for speeders and put him on patrol I would rather see someone going 5mph over than these break-ins. Car break-ins and thefts home invasions and robberys it's all ridiculous. This needs to be gotten under control and quickly, my opinion is the SCPD seems way to calm about all of this.Mar 8, 2012
No need to test it anymore, it worked great last night!Jan 17, 2012
I'm sorry but I have a problem with the statement "he believes the city's drinking water is safe"....... Get it together and find out what is causing this it's not the first time and for it to happen a second time so soon after the first leads me to believe it wasn't completely fixed the first time or we have a real problem. If our city workers can't figure out what is causing it bring in someone who can. And Orchard Park showed it once but on the retest it was negative????? sounds fishy. If a letter is deemed necessary it shouldn't take weeks and weeks to get it to us, it's like if we wait to tell them after the fact maybe no one will complain. With problems popping up so frequently testing should be done more often utnil this problem stops happening.Nov 9, 2011
D.A.R.E is an awesome program and Bruce does a fabulous job with the kids. Some of them need to see you don't have to be afraid of the police. I wish our disctrict would follow in Union HS footsteps and do drug searches, bring in the dogs and do the school and the parking lots. Random drug testing is great but can only do so much. I also believe our teachers should do random drug testing, the only way to have a drug free school is if everyone is playing by the same rules, not just some.Nov 8, 2011
I wish they would do this at our St. Clair School and I totally thing there should be random drug testing of the faculty too. The only way to have a completely drug free school is if everyone is tested.Nov 8, 2011
Im wondering if all parks departments run in the "red"? Would it help if we had an acutal parks department with a coordinator to get things going, classes programs etc? How do other citites fund their park programming?Aug 8, 2011
Mr. Tate is correct. The facility would do better if it were more like the ones around the area with a zero depth area and a place for kids to play all year round. Just a pool is nice, but the zero depth areas, the slide, lazy river areas will bring in more families year round. It makes it easier for the whole family to go there and enjoy the day. Making the slides and such an outside attraction limits their time of use and the amount of money they bring in. And adding to it later.....it has taken us years to get this far, the thought of adding on 5-10 years down the road just isn't what people are going to want to hear. Cost being taken into effect is great but a study that is not complete isn't what we need, atleast have it optioned into the study. I think the idea people in the are were sold on is not of a swimming pool but of more a rec play pool with a swimming area.Jul 6, 2011
