It's my opinion that the exact same thing is going to happen when they "tax the wealthy." The extra expense will just trickle down to us lowly consumers. PLUS, the "wealthy" will lay off employees as a means of cutting expenses just in case their customers stop buying as much. It's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
Most people know that there are many "renters" in St. Clair. I'm hoping the property owners will realize who their "good" renters are and cut them a break. We all can only hope that the new rules and regulations will be enough to keep the rental properties safe and sanitary. 7 months ago
Well.... if the insurance/bond company has PAID the claim... then there must be some pretty compelling evidence against Mr. Hinson. Also, if he has now also quit his job with Ladue, is it possible that some criminal charges are pending? It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. It's unfortunate that this had to happen in St. Clair, a town that already has so little and it's resources are stretched to the max. I am VERY interested in finding out what the ACTUAL total of missing money comes up to. Bet you anything that it's WAY more than the insurance/bond company reimbursement.9 months ago
Streaking - although usually implies "running naked/nude" doesn't always mean that. I think the word "streaking" was used to inform us that he was RUNNING (or at least moving quickly) instead of.... oh.... i don't know.... saunters, stumbles, sashays, etc. HeeHee!! The word "nude" was just to inform us that he was NAKED! I heard a joke one time - and I think it was Jeff Foxworthy, but don't hold me to that..... that goes: What is the difference between naked and nekkid? Naked means you don't have any clothes on. Nekkid means you don't have any clothes on and you're up to something!9 months ago
The newspaper isn't under any legal liability for printing her name. Once a person is arrested and charges are filed, it becomes public record. There is nothing wrong with reporting information that is public record.11 months ago
Robin: You said it all perfectly and I could not agree more! The pastor of UCC has an agenda and softball has nothing to do with it. It's extremely unfortunate to see the softball team punished for it though. I think the churches that refused to play with UCC are missing out on an opportunity to minister and support other church members who are in need. Prayers to all involved.May 22, 2012
Apparently, it has not occurred to you that maybe they DID educate themselves about this topic and guess what? They agree with the people of this town - it's time for growth and change. I'm guessing the School Board members and probably a good handful of the teachers participated in the City's Comprehensive Plan Meetings - they were open to the public. That is where these ideas for City improvement came from. Did you participate? I did.May 22, 2012
Dear NotSoConfused - Amen! Very well said! May 18, 2012
My son is in that program... and NO, it's not ironic at all. Neither the airport, nor anyone there, has anything of any value to offer the JROTC program. Piddly little recreational craft does not help educate cadets on the scale that they need. Again, the airport has had 60+ years to prove itself a valuable asset of this community and it has failed to do so, that is indisputable. There is no reason to think that things could ever be different (other than IN YOUR DREAMS). I fully support growing the area for retail/office/other development.Apr 24, 2012
I might be wrong, but I believe that Mr. Hoffman lives just outside of city limits.
But you're right about one thing. He is a very nice man and he has served the school system very well.Mar 19, 2012
More like it's from a "citizen" who THINKS he's an official from the FAA. Mar 16, 2012
