I don't understand: the article says "Fuchs said he would not be surprised if a new record was set due to the severe drought." Didn't Fuchs know if it did or didn't?
Also, the record low level, according to the NWS, is -3.30 ft on 12/14/1937. We aren't even close. Is this article trying to say that we MIGHT get that low sometime this winter? I read it twice and it appears to say we are going to hit a new record low at -0.80 this weekend. BTW, the 13th lowest level on record was -1.00 ft on 01/20/1940.
