Comrade Bob, For your information my former employer was profitable when they closed. Our only business was making Chrysler minivan seats, consequently when the Fenton plant closed we did likewise.Apr 1, 2011
Comrade Bob, the answer to your question is my former job is in Canada. It would be hard to make the case that Missouri unions drove the job there since Canada has a higher percentage of union jobs than Missouri. Specifically, my former job is still held by a union member. The reason they still make vans in Windsor, Canada and not Fenton is it would have cost Chrysler $300 million more to close their Canadian plant due to theie government insisting on protecitons for those jobs - something our gov't refuses to do. Integram was just one of 50,000 American plants and 5.5 million manufacturing jobs that have left since 2000 - the vast majority of these were non-union facilities. Once again, hard to blame the union. Finding the entitiy to blame is not difficult. Please look at this nations lack of industrial policy while our trading "partners" abuse our trust and turn America from the worlds greatest creditor to worlds greatest debtor.Apr 1, 2011
A couple of issues need to be clarified. Under current law no worker is required to join a union. Their only responsibility is to pay for the services they use. Since a union must represent all workers in the bargaining unit and these workers will be receiving the same pay, insurance, and representation they are obligated to pay for those services only. I suppose Mr. Nieves is also supportive of people moving into neighborhoods with homeowner fees to use all the neighborhood services but not pay for them. What's next, eating other peoples food and not paying for it? Funny how ithey preach responsibility but pass laws that encourage freeloading. Feb 22, 2011
