The Lady Jays were first in six events Tuesday at Ft. Zumwalt South to open the winter swimming season.
Overall, Washington took a narrow loss in the contest by a score of 92-88. Head Coach Lane Page said the meet was a much closer point spread than it had been in previous seasons.
The 200 medley relay team of Aubrie Moreland, Hannah Struckhoff, McKenzie Dohm and Maddy Tchiblakian started the meet in the win column with a first-place finish at 2:09.21.
The same group of four also placed first in the 400 freestyle relay.
Moreland was first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:34.65.
Dohm finished first in the 50 freestyle at 27.15 seconds.
Tchiblakian placed first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:20.26.
Emily Bell was the top scorer in the one-meter diving competition with 171.60 points. It was the first time Washington has had a competitor in the diving portion.
The Lady Jays also had the third-and fifth-place finishing relay teams in the 200 medley relay. The team of Elizabeth Sander, Clairese Kluba, Bell and Kylee Perriman was third. Molly Struckhoff, Darby Eime, Holly Hoerstkamp and Olivia Diederich swam in fifth.
Kluba, Eime, Molly Struckhoff and Mikala Brune were second in the 200 freestyle relay. Bailey Hair, Bell, Deiderich and Jenna Lopeker finished fourth in that event.
Brune, Perriman, Hoerstkamp and Sander placed fourth in the 400 freestyle relay. Molly Struckhoff, Hair, Loepker and Darby finished fifth.
In singles events, Moreland also swam second in the 500 freestyle, Dohm second in the 100 backstroke, Tchiblakian third in the 200 individual medley and Bell third in the 50 freestyle.
Hannah Struckhoff swam second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 200 freestyle.
Diederich was second in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 100 breaststroke.
Sander swam third in the 100 backstroke and sixth in the 200 individual medley.
Molly Struckhoff finished fourth in the 100 freestyle.
Perriman placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 100 freestyle.
Time swam fourth in the 100 butterfly with Brune finishing fifth that race. Brune was also fourth in the 50 freestyle.
Loepker finished fifth in both the 50 freestyle and the 200 freestyle.
Hoerstkamp was sixth in both the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Kluba placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke.
