Fresh from the Archdiocesan Athletic Association championship meet, the Borgia wrestling Knights swept a road tri-meet Monday.
Borgia defeated O’Fallon Christian, 45-24, and Winfield, 42-24.
“It was a good outing for Borgia,” Head Coach Matt Posinski said. “Our numbers helped us secure two wins. There were a total of 10 matches between the two duals.”
A rematch at 113 pounds between Adam Hellebusch and Jonathan Cochrum was the best of the night, Posinski said.
“The match was tied going into the third period,” Posinski said. “Adam started on bottom and was able to get a reversal to go ahead 4-2 and hold onto the margin for the win. They are now 2-2 in head-to-head-competition.”
