The running game won out Friday night at St. Clair.
The Bulldogs rushed for six scores and threw for one more in a 54-14 rout of Union.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats’ passing attack was declawed throughout the first half as Union did not complete a pass until midway through the second quarter.
Marcus Kirk powered his way into the end zone three times for St. Clair. Josh Richards and quarterback Tim Hoffman ran it in twice. Chris Scott caught Hoffman’s lone touchdown pass.
Eli Klenke got the Wildcats on the board late in the third quarter, catching one of Jacob Fleming’s passes on fourth and long after it had been deflected. Peyton Burke added a long touchdown catch in the fourth.
Things got heated in the fourth quarter as both Klenke and St. Clair Head Coach Brian Robbins were ejected from the contest.
No other scores were recorded as the Wildcats wound down the clock on their final drive with the continuous clock.
