For two area teams, the girls soccer season continues.

Both were the top seeds in their respective districts and both won by identical 1-0 scores in the title games over area foes.

At Stierberger Stadium, the host Union Lady 'Cats edged Washington, 1-0, with freshman Emily Gaebe netting the game's lone goal less than two minutes into the contest.

At Owensville, the Borgia Lady Knights got a goal from sophomore Cailey Foss just over 11 minutes into the Class 2 District 8 championship game against St. Clair. That goal held up.

Borgia, which hosts O'Fallon Christian Saturday in sectional action, has an injury dilemma with four starters coming out during Wednesday's game. Defenders Hannah Overman and Gretchen Overman and forwards Hannah Herbst and Kara Voss all left the game early.

Union will travel Tuesday to Springfield to face either Glendale or Parkview. The District 10 final won't be played until Friday evening.

Complete coverage of both games will be in the Weekend Missourian.
