Washington's historic boys soccer run continued Saturday evening at Scanlan Stadium with a 2-0 victory over North County in the Class 3 quarterfinals.

The Blue Jays (24-8) scored once in each half while Ottmar Escalante recorded the shutout in net.

Michael Andrews headed home a crossing pass from Trent Lewis with 12:56 left in the first half to give Washington the lead.

Jeremiah Collins buried a penalty kick with 26:27 to go in the game after Conlan Jarvis was pulled down in the box.

The Blue Jays will play Harrisonville (25-3) Friday at noon at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton.

The other semifinal will pit Republic (23-4) against either Ft. Zumwalt South or Parkway Central. That quarterfinal started at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The third-place game will be played Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. The title contest will start at 2 p.m.
