FENTON — Washington’s best-ever boys soccer run came to an end Saturday as the Blue Jays finished second in the MSHSAA Class 3 State Tournament at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.

Parkway Central (21-8-1) edged the Blue Jays (25-9) for the state title, 1-0.

Parkway Central got a goal at the 54:05 mark as Matthew Deay headed home a Adam Burnett corner kick.

Washington had three shots on goal, all in the first half. Washington goalkeeper Christian Longseth made eight saves for the Blue Jays.
