Swimming for the third time in a week, the Pacific Swim Team Pirates fell Monday at Robinwood, 323-236.

It was the final dual meet for Pacific, which heads to the Gateway Swimming and Diving League Manuel Division championship meets.

“The Pacific Pirates had another great outing at Robinwood Monday night,” Pacific Head Coach Kathleen Westfall said. “Only a few more days until the conference meet and we are headed in the right direction.

The 11-Over swimmers will compete Friday at Cool Dell starting at 4 p.m. The 10-Under swimmers go to Missouri Athletic Club West Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

Westfall said most of the team achieved personal best times during Monday’s meet.

“For the last regular season swim meet, I’m extremely proud to say that we had 51 out of 56 swimmers posting personal best times,” Westfall said. “The swimmers made it extremely hard to pick an MVP, so I chose the following 10 MVP’s from Monday nights swim meet: Sophie Parson (6), Isla Van Deven (5), Brian Kevwitch (6), Jack Esslinger (6), Miah Bonds (10), Ethan Holland (11), Peyton Parks (14), Kendall Fagan (14), Ryan Sauvage (17) and Olivia Lindemann (17). All 10 swimmers posted personal best times in all of their individual races. We had 15 swimmers who posted two personal best times in their individual races.”

With everyone showing improvement, Westfall said the competition has been difficult for spots on relay teams for the division meet.

“The kids have been swimming their hearts out this year,” Westfall said. “Several relay placements for conference have come down to this last meet. This has been proven time and again that if you come to practice and work hard you will see the results.”
