With two undefeated teams clashing Thursday night at Union, something had to give.

And Union’s unbeaten record yielded to the North County Lady Raiders in double overtime, 43-38.

“Both teams played very well,” Union Head Coach Dusty Weiskopf said. “Those are the games you hate that someone has to lose. We controlled the game throughout, we executed are game plan almost to a T. NC did a very good job at adjusting to what we threw at them and in the end won it.”

North County improved to 4-0 while Union fell to 3-1.

The teams were tied 9-9 after one quarter. Union jumped ahead at the half, 20-13. After three quarters, Union led North County, 25-22.

The game was tied at the end of regulation, 33-33. It was 37-37 after one overtime.

Taylor Seely led the way with 10 points.

Emily Gaebe scored nine points. Megan Siedhoff was next with eight points.

Kaylee Bunch and Julia Overstreet each recorded five points.
