Rolling with the changes, the Washington Post 218 Freshman Legion Preseason Tournament is set to run May 18-20.

Post 218 Manager Joe Kopmann reported the 10th District (St. Louis County) will not field any teams at the Freshman Legion level this year. In the past, part of the Post 218 Preseason Tournament field has come from St. Louis.

While this won’t be the six-team two-division tournament, it will be a five-team round-robin featuring three state qualifiers.

Joining Washington are state runner-up Festus Post 253 and Ninth District Postseason Tournament champion Sullivan Post 18.

Other teams coming are Union Post 297, which placed fourth in the Ninth District regular season with 17 wins, and De Soto.

The event starts Friday, May 18, with two games at Rotary Recreational Complex - Ronsick Field.

Union plays in both, facing Sullivan at 6 p.m. and Washington at 8:30 p.m.

Games Saturday, May 19, start at 11 a.m. with De Soto playing Union. Festus plays Sullivan at 1:30 p.m., De Soto takes on Sullivan at 4 p.m. and Washington plays Festus at 6:30 p.m.

Games Sunday, May 20, open with Washington facing Sullivan at 11 a.m. Festus then plays De Soto at 1:30 p.m. and Festus meets Union at 4 p.m. The event closes with Washington playing De Soto at 6:30 p.m.
