Winning the Class 4 District 6 title, the Sullivan Lady Eagles captured four positions on this year’s Missouri Basketball Coaches Association all-district squad.

Head Coach Jason Merkel was named coach of the year while three players also made the 10-member squad.

Senior forward Clare Shetley was second in the voting and averaged 13.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and one blocked shot per game.

Senior guard Bria Jones was third in the voting. She averaged 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game

Sophomore forward Mallory Shetley averaged 11.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.7 apg, 2.4 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game.

Receiving the most votes was Borgia senior guard Cassidy Moss. The Rockhurst University recruit averaged 14.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game

Other members of the all-district team, in order of voting, were:

• Borgia junior guard Grace Gettemeier (12.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.6 apg, 2.0 spg);

• St. Clair junior guard Haley Buscher (10.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.5 spg);

• Pacific junior guard Grace Burrows (13.1 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.3 spg);

• Union junior forward Taylor Seely (7.6 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.0 spg);

• Borgia freshman forward Avery Lackey (9.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 spg, 2.7 bpg); and

• Union freshman guard Julia Overstreet (9.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.0 spg).

Players making the team are eligible for MBCA honors at higher levels.
