Andy Halaz, who was an assistant coach on Borgia’s 2013 Class 3 volleyball state championship team, has been named head coach at Missouri S&T.
Halaz also worked in the campus ministry program at Borgia. He was an assistant to Brad Bruns for two seasons with the Lady Knights.
Halaz also has experience at the collegiate and club levels, most recently with the St. Louis High Performance club, where he led the public relations effort, was director for the 11s program and served as co-director for the outdoor program.
With High Performance, Halaz coached both girls and boys teams.
Halaz played volleyball in high school at Saint Louis University High. He started his coaching career as an assistant at Rockhurst University from 2004-08 before moving to Saint Louis University. He was at SLU for two seasons. His next stop was at Georgetown University, where he was an assistant for three seasons. He also coached with Virginia Elite during his time with Georgetown.
He then returned to the St. Louis area at Borgia.
Andy and his wife, Danielle, have one son, Nolan.
