The run of honors for Lady Jays softball continued at the district level.

The Class 4 District 4 champions had five players selected to the All-District team.

Pitcher Ellie Quaethem, who threw two complete games in the tournament that included a shutout against Northwest, was one of three pitchers selected to the team. She also held top-seeded Eureka to just one run in the championship game, which Washington won 12-1.

Additionally, Quaethem batted 4-5 in the two games with two home runs and five RBIs.

Other Lady Jays selected were outfielder Nichole Brinker, infielders Jessie Huxol and Jena Monehan and utility player Taylor Hendrix.

Brinker led the team in hits during district play, going 5-8 while scoring five runs and driving in two.

Hendrix finished 4-7 in the tournament with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored.

Monehan was 3-6 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Huxol went 1-6 with two runs and one RBI.

Other selections at pitcher included Rylie Inglis and Haley Tate, both from Eureka.

Another Lady Wildcat, Megan Moll, was selected from Eureka. Other catchers selected to the team were Lafayette’s Kathryn Flowers and Northwest’s Kaili Edler.

Two Northwest infielders were selected, Sarah Roth and Breanna Potthast. Eureka’s Kileigh Grisham was an infield selection as well.

Joining Brinker in the outfield were Emily Rieske of Eureka and Callie Harrison from Lafayette.
