Playing at home on senior night, the Crosspoint Christian School varsity basketball teams swept The Fulton School of St. Albans Tuesday.

Crosspoint’s girls set the tone with a 36-23 victory and the boys followed up with a 73-18 win.

Next up for Crosspoint is a doubleheader at Christian Fellowship Friday.

The Cougars play next week in the MAC Tournament before heading to the Missouri Christian School Athletic Association State Tournament in Joplin. The Crosspoint boys are the defending state champion.


Crosspoint (6-9) made it a two-game winning streak by beating the Lady Eagles.

Crosspoint led 11-7 after one quarter, 24-11 at the half and 28-19 through three quarters.

Emily Bratch led Crosspoint with 14 points, and also had three assists and three steals.

Sara Blackburn recorded another double-double with 13 points, 18 rebounds, six steals and four assists.

Rachel Smith scored seven points with two rebounds and a steal.

Hannah Knudsvig scored two points with eight rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Emma Thomas added two steals and a rebound. Elaina Carson had one assist.


Crosspoint (14-2) had its winning steak snapped Monday at Union, but came back to beat its county rival, 73-16.

“Crosspoint celebrated our seniors in our final home game this year against Fulton,” Crosspoint Head Coach Scott Weldy said. “Winning 73-18, it was a good rebound off of the Union loss the day before. The Cougars were able to use 60 percent shooting from inside the arc to help keep the game out of reach.”

Crosspoint jumped out to a 25-7 game after one quarter and led 47-16 at the half. It was 63-18 after three quarters.

Sam Coons paced Crosspoint with a double-double. He was one of four players to reach double digits in scoring with 18. He also had 12 rebounds and also had one assist.

AJ Nantz scored 13 points and also had four rebounds and four steals.

Nic Blocker was next with 12 points, nine rebounds, four assists and one steal.

David Coroama scored 11 points with five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Luke Aholt scored eight points with 10 rebounds and four steals.

Nate Davis netted four points with four rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot.

Isaac Thomas scored four points with two rebounds.

Isaiah Weible scored three points with a rebound.

Jonathan Aholt pulled down two rebounds with an assist and a steal.
