Union had the medalist.

But Borgia won Monday’s girls golf match at Franklin County Country Club over the Lady ’Cats, 202-213.

Union’s Olivia Struttmann shot 47 to record the meet’s lowest score.

“Olivia Struttmann scored a new match-tournament PR,” Union Head Coach Matt Goddard said. “I think the rest of my girls played average or below average. The overall team score was about average for us.”

Borgia was paced by Halle Fischer, who shot 49.

“Halle played the best round of her year and has really been hitting the ball well of late,” Borgia Head Coach Michael Pelster said. “The biggest difference in her game though currently is she isn’t having as many three and four putts. If she can keep on putting like this she has a chance to continue to shoot in the upper 4’s low 50s. She even made a 30-foot putt on No. 8 which many would say is the hardest green on the course.”

Borgia’s other golfers were Britney Harriman at 50, Sydney Unnerstall at 50, Sara Kopmann at 53, Cailey Foss at 58 and Megan Holtmeyer at 59.

Other Union golfers were Emily Young at 53, Sophia Miner at 55, McKenna Coombs at 58, Adrianna Trenholm at 59 and Macey Hargrove at 68.

“Britney Harriman also had a good round,” Pelster said. “She kept the ball in play and did not get too frustrated with herself when she hit a bad shot. I was worried how the round would go for the girls with it being the Monday after Homecoming. Many of the girls were tired but I think that may have helped a few of them out. They didn’t try to kill the ball or over think any shot, they just hit it.”
