Competing last Saturday at the Farmington Tournament, St. Clair had one wrestler with a 5-0 record and the team registered a 2-3 dual meet record.

The tournament was set up with everything as duals and the Bulldogs managed two wins on the day:

• St. Clair defeated Sikeston, 42-39 and

• St. Clair defeated Cape Central, 60-24.

The three losses were:

• Pacific defeated St. Clair, 48-30;

• Warrenton defeated St. Clair, 48-36; and

• Farmington defeated St. Clair, 72-12.

St. Clair’s dual meet record moved to 6-7 on the season.

“It was not a bad day for us, but we could have wrestled better as a team,” said St. Clair Head Coach Bryan Watkins. “We got better in some areas that we’ve been working on. We still can improve.”

Leading the Bulldogs was Skyler Hutchison, who notched a 5-0 record at 195 pounds, improving to 14-2 on the season.

Hutchison won all three of his contested matches by pin over Farmington, Pacific and Sikeston. The other two wins came by forfeit.

Finishing with 4-1 records on the day were Dustin Conner and Colton Huddleston.

Competing at 170 pounds, Conner’s lone loss was by a 4-1 decision to Pacific’s Dalton Voyles, who is state ranked in Class 3 and owns a 26-2 record on the season.

Conner had pins over Farmington, Sikeston and Cape Central, improving to 14-3 on the season.

Wrestling at 285 pounds, Huddleston’s lone loss was to Farmington’s Adam Maple, who’s ranked seventh in Class 3 at 285 pounds by

Huddleston had one victory by pin, improving to 12-4 on the season.

Thomas Maple (106 pounds) posted a 3-2 record, which included a pin over Sikeston.

Lucas Davis (113) notched a 3-2 record.

Chris Algiere (132) had a 3-2 record, which included pins over Warrenton and Cape Central.

Codie Stroup (152) registered a 2-3 record with pins over Pacific and Cape Central.

Kris Heembrock (120) finished with a 1-4 record with a pin over Cape Central.

Austin Nappier (145) had a 1-4 record with a pin over Sikeston.

Noah Cohen (160) notched a 1-4 record with a pin over Cape Central.

Tyler Trautman (182) finished with a 1-4 record.

Branden Brown (220) posted a 1-2 record.

Jarred Dingley (220) had a 1-1 record.

Chase Cohen (138) had an 0-5 record, but had a close 4-2 loss to Pacific.

St. Clair was open at 126.
