Pacific Registers 5-4 Record in Duals at Hillsboro Tournament

Pacific posted a 5-4 record in dual meets while competing last Friday and Saturday at the Hillsboro Wrestling Tournament.

“Overall, we wrestled pretty well. We didn’t give away many matches,” said Pacific Head Coach Rob Schimsa. “Everybody was beating everybody. We beat De Soto and they beat everybody else. It’s all about matchups.”

Pacific’s wrestlers with 9-0 records in the tournament were Josh Franek (106), Jeff Miller (138) and Austin Repp (170).

Repp improved to 31-1 on the season. Miller moved to 29-3. Franek improved to 27-3.

Dalton Voyles (160) was 8-1 in the tournament. Zain Mathena (113) and Joe Rind (120) both were 7-2.

The Indians lost to Windsor, 42-36.

Pacific’s winners were Franek (106), Mathena (113), Rind (120), Miller (138), Curtis Paglusch (152) and Repp (170).

Miller, Paglusch and Repp won by pin. Franek, Mathena and Rind won by walkovers.

Pacific lost to Webster Groves, 42-33.

The Indians’ winners were Franek (106), Matthew Schimsa (126), Miller (138), Joon Kim (145), Voyles (160) and Repp (170).

Repp won by pin. Schimsa won by decision. Franek, Miller, Kim and Voyles won via walkovers.

Pacific defeated Union, 45-24.

Winners for the Indians were Franek (106), Mathena (113), Rind (120), Lane Smith (132), Miller (138), Voyles (160), Repp (170), Andrew Cooper (182) and Jarrett Harrison (195).

Rind and Cooper won by pin. Franek, Voyles and Repp won by technical fall. Smith and Miller won by decision. Mathena and Harrison won by walkovers.

Pacific defeated St. Mary’s, 60-15.

Winners for the Indians were Franek (106), Mathena (113), Rind (120), Schimsa (126), Smith (132), Miller (138), Kim (145), Voyles (160), Repp (170) and Cooper (182).

Franek, Mathena, Miller, Kim, Voyles, Repp and Cooper won by pin. Rind, Schimsa and Smith won by walkovers.

The Indians defeated North County, 63-18.

Pacific’s winners were Franek (106), Mathena (113), Rind (120), Schimsa (126), Smith (132), Miller (138), Kim (145), Paglusch (152), Voyles (160), Repp (170) and Cooper (182).

Miller, Paglusch, Voyles and Repp won by pin. Smith won by decision. Franek, Mathena, Rind, Schimsa, Kim and Cooper won via walkovers.

Pacific defeated Hillsboro, 50-28.

Winners for the Indians were Franek (106), Mathena (113), Schimsa (126), Smith (132), Miller (138), Kim (145), Paglusch (152), Voyles (160) and Repp (170).

Schimsa, Miller, Kim, Paglusch, Voyles and Repp won by pin. Franek won by technical fall. Smith won by decision. Mathena won by forfeit.

The Indians defeated De Soto, 39-27.

Winners for Pacific were Franek (106), Mathena (113), Rind (120), Miller (138), Kim (145), Paglusch (152), Voyles (160), Repp (170) and Cooper (182).

Paglusch and Repp won by pin. Miller won by technical fall. Cooper won by major decision. Franek, Mathena, Kim and Voyles won by decision. Rind won via forfeit.

Pacific lost to Ft. Zumwalt South, 33-31.
