Houston Wins Girls Pentathlon Title, Leslie Finishes Second

A pair of area athletes topped the girls standings at the Washington Pentathlon, which took place Saturday at Borgia.

A total of 29 girls competed in the pentathlon, which consisted of the 100-meter high hurdles, the high jump, the long jump, the shot put and the 800-meter run.

Claiming the girls title was Union’s Anna Houston, who accumulated 2,805 points.

Houston’s individual results were 16.3 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-4 in the high jump, 28-9 in the shot put, 17-1 in the long jump and 2:32 in the 800-meter run.

Placing second overall was Washington’s Kirstie Leslie, who totaled 2,796 points.

Leslie’s results were 16.7 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-11 in the high jump, 26-2 in the shot put, 16-6 1/2 in the long jump and 2:37 in the 800-meter run.

Kirkwood’s Andi Kuhnlein finished third with 2,495 points.

Washington’s Sarah Brock ended fourth with 2,120 points.

Brock’s results were 19.3 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-8 in the high jump, 22-1 in the shot put, 13-7 3/4 in the long jump and 2:40 in the 800-meter run.

Washington’s Megan Bauche placed fifth with 2,117 points.

Bauche’s results were 17.8 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-4 in the high jump, 29-2 in the shot put, 13-3 1/2 in the long jump and 2:53 in the 800-meter run.

Sullivan’s Natalie Schriever finished eighth with 2,027 points.

Schriever’s results were 19.1 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-4 in the high jump, 22-10 in the shot put, 14-9 in the long jump and 2:48 in the 800-meter run.

Union’s Alicia Brueggemann placed 11th with 1,911 points.

Bruegemann’s results were 21.1 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-9 in the high jump, 26-0 in the shot put, 13-5 1/2 in the long jump and 2:54 in the 800-meter run.

Sullivan’s Brianna Winistoerfer was 12th with 1,896 points.

Winistoerfer’s results were 19.6 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-8 in the high jump, 21-8 in the shot put, 12-3 in the long jump and 2:48 in the 800-meter run.

Sullivan’s Madison Bartle ended 14th with 1,812 points.

Bartle’s results were 18.7 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-0 in the high jump, 23-2 in the shot put, 12-3 1/2 in the long jump and 2:50 in the 800-meter run.

Pacific’s Ashley Brinker finished 15th with 1,794 points.

Brinker’s results were 20.1 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 3-10 in the high jump, 19-9 in the shot put, 13-10 in the long jump and 2:38 in the 800-meter run.

Washington’s Megan Freitag ended 16th with 1,793 points.

Freitag’s results were 19.2 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-2 in the high jump, 25-7 in the shot put, 12-1 1/2 in the long jump and 2:52 in the 800-meter run.

Pacific’s Madison Livell placed 17th with 1,740 points.

Livell’s results were 19.6 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-8 in the high jump, 24-7 in the shot put, 12-4 in the long jump and 3:12 in the 800-meter run.

Pacific’s Hannah Graf was 23th with 1,482 points.

Graf’s results were 23.1 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-3 in the high jump, 15-7 in the shot put, 11-10 in the long jump and 2:39 in the 800-meter run.

Pacific’s Meagan Zerna placed 26th with 1,302 points.

Zerna’s results were 20.7 in the 100-meter high hurdles, 4-0 in the high jump, 19-9 in the shot put, 11-8 1/2 in the long jump and 3:13 in the 800-meter run.

Also competing were Northwest’s Alysiah Whittaker (sixth place), Kirkwood’s Elisa Steele (seventh), Northwest’s Brittany Flieger (ninth), Kirkwood’s Grace Noonan (10th), Kirkwood’s Jocelyn Payne (13th), Northwest’s Anna Grobelny (18th), Kirkwood’s Emma Teson (19th), Northwest’s Mary Shannon (20th), Northwest’s Melody Graham (21st), Parkway South’s Rebecca Dalton (22nd), Kirkwood’s Taylor Frost (23rd), Parkway South’s Janila Chairs (25th), Kirkwood’s Natalie Noonan (27th), Parkway South’s Jazmyn Harper (28th) and Parkway South’s Nisha Day (29th).
