Washington dropped a dual wrestling meet Thursday to Quincy, Ill., at Granite City, Ill., High School.
The Blue Jays won three of the 10 contested matches in a 36-31 setback.
There was no report from Washington’s dual against Granite City.
Winners in contested matches for Washington against Quincy were:
• 138 — Cole Hamai won by decision over Stephen Sharp, 9-6;
• 152 — Spencer Baird pinned Gage Mast in 3:33; and
• 182 — Jared Rennick won by major decision over Logan Hagerbaumer, 14-2.
Cody Summers (132), Caleb Summers (160) and Matt Pecka (285) won by forfeit.
Winning contested matches for Quincy were:
• 106 — Trevor Schutte pinned Cole Fregalette in 18 seconds;
• 120 — Garrad Straube pinned over Parker Neptune in 1:17;
• 126 — Michael Peters won by decision over Nicholas Solter, 6-4;
• 145 — Matt Bilgri pinned Luke Knight in 3:15;
• 170 — Dakota Downs won by decision over Kyle Summers, 9-2;
• 195 — Jaydon Summy pinned Logan Baird in 5:58; and
• 220 — Damon Gibson pinned Jacob Kliethermes in 3:16.
Both teams were open at 113.
Washington wrestles Friday and Saturday at the GAC Tournament at Ft. Zumwalt East High School. Action Saturday starts at 10 a.m.
The finals are scheduled for 3 p.m.
