Wrapping up the GAC Central softball title, Ft. Zumwalt North claimed a home softball victory Monday over Washington.

Shelby Clark, who pitched a perfect game against the Lady Jays earlier in the season, tossed a three-hitter in a 7-0 win.

Becca Daugherty, Courtney Kedroski and MC Landolt each had one hit for Washington.

Brooke Smith pitched four innings for the Lady Jays. She allowed seven runs, five earned, on nine hits with two walks.

Katie Irwin worked two scoreless innings in relief, allowing two hits.

Ft. Zumwalt North improved to 12-3 overall and 7-0 in league play. Washington dropped to 9-7 and 3-3.

Howell Central Tourney

The Lady Jays reached the semifinals Saturday at the Francis Howell Central Tournament, but settled for a fourth-place finish.

Kedroski had 10 hits in 11 at-bats in three games at the tournament.

In the opening round, the Lady Jays routed St. Charles West in five innings, 23-0.

The Lady Jays outhit St. Charles West, 17-1.

Kayla Pilgram tossed a one-hit shutout, walking one and striking out six in five innings.

Kedroski was 4-4 at the plate with a walk, a triple and five RBIs.

Abbey Martin was 3-5 with a double, six RBIs and one run.

Megan Freitag also was 3-5 with four RBIs and four runs.

Kaelie Smith collected two hits (one double), a walk, was hit by a pitch and scored four runs. She now holds the school record for career walks with 37.

Elanna Osthoff registered one hit, two RBIs and one run.

Katie Trigg had one hit, one walk and two runs.

Lilli Mantle both walked, was hit by a pitch and scored. Madi Eime walked and scored. Daugherty scored a run.

Washington then suffered a semifinal loss to Howell North in five innings, 20-5.

Brooke Smith pitched 2.2 innings and was followed by Katie Irwin for two frames and Kedroski for one-third of an inning.

Kedroski continued her prefect run at the plate by going 3-3 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Kaelie Smith added two hits, a walk and three runs.

Landolt registered one hit and two runs.

Osthofff added one hit. Daugherty drew a walk. Freitag and Mantle both had one RBI.

Washington lost the third-place game to Winfield in eight innings, 7-6.

The Lady Jays held a 6-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but Winfield tied the game with three runs in the seventh and won it with a run in the eighth.

Pilgram pitched the first seven innings for Washington. She allowed six runs, three earned, on eight hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Kedroski worked the eighth inning.

Kedroski capped her standout tournament at the plate by going 3-4 with one RBI and one run.

Osthoff finished with two hits, one walk and one run.

Landolt added two hits and two runs.

Kaelie Smith, Brooke Smith and Freitag each had one hit and one RBI. Kaelie Smith also scored a run. Trigg also scored a run.
