St. Clair split a pair of soccer matches during the week.

The Bulldogs (5-3) won a 3-2 overtime decision Tuesday at Belle and lost to Windsor 6-1 Thursday at home.

St. Clair plays next week at the St. Charles Tournament, opening against McCluer Monday at 5:45 p.m. The Bulldogs meet St. Charles West Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.

Spencer Crumbaugh scored all three goals in St. Clair’s 3-2 overtime victory Tuesday at Belle.

“I was very pleased with the entire team. The kids did a great job,” said St. Clair Head Coach Ted Koenigsfeld. “I would have liked to keep them out of the net, but that’s part of the game. It was one of our better games as far as playing our team concept.”

Miguel Aguirre assisted on two goals. Chris Kahlenbeck had one assist.

Reno Jones made seven saves in goal.

The Bulldogs won the game four minutes into sudden-death overtime, which completed the hat trick for Crumbaugh.

“Chris Kahlenbeck cleared the ball to Spencer at midfield, who got past the defense and moved in for the goal,” Koenigsfeld said. “We’re excited about the season Spencer is having. He really matured as a player and a person over the summer. He plays with composure and confidence. The biggest thing is he plays with his head up. He sees the field well.”

St. Clair dropped a 6-1 home decision Thursday against Windsor.

Crumbaugh netted the Bulldogs’ lone goal, his 15th of the season.

Jones was in goal for St. Clair.

“It was a scoreless game with 15 minutes left in the first half. I had very few negative things to point out at halftime, even though we were behind 2-0,” Koenigsfeld said. “Windsor is a solid, fast-paced team. Our kids showed a lot of heart and played hard.”
