Top-seeded Washington advanced to the championship game of the Washington Boys Basketball Tournament with a 59-48 win Friday over fifth-seeded Bayless.
The Blue Jays (12-4) will play second-seeded Westminster (8-5) in the championship game Saturday at 7 p.m.
Westminster knocked off sixth-seeded Francis Howell Central in Friday’s other semifinal contest, 83-59.
Luke Schroepfer led the Blue Jays against Bayless with 22 points. Ronnie Suggs added 20 points.
Eighth-seeded St. Clair (3-8) meets seventh-seeded Ft. Zumwalt East (4-8) in the seventh-place game Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Third-seeded Borgia (7-6) takes on fourth-seeded St. Charles (11-5) in the consolation contest at 4 p.m.
Bayless (9-4) and Howell Central (5-9) play in the third-place game at 5:30 p.m.
Union Girls Tournament
Top-seeded Sullivan improved to 11-0 on the season with a 49-41 win over fourth-seeded Borgia Friday in the semifinals of the Union Girls Basketball Tournament.
The Lady Eagles play in the championship game against second-seeded Helias Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Knights (8-4) play for third place against sixth-seeded St. Charles West Saturday at 4 p.m.
Fifth-seeded Union (10-4) and seventh-seeded Washington (6-5) meet in the consolation game Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
South Callaway Tournament
New Haven’s boys and girls, along with Hermann’s girls, have reached the championship game of the South Callaway Basketball Tournament.
In the girls bracket, top-seeded Hermann (12-2) and third-seeded New Haven (9-4) meet in the championship game Saturday at 5 p.m.
On the boys side, top-seeded New Haven (8-4) will play seventh-seeded Russellville in the title contest Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
