Pacific notched a pair of second-place cross country finishes Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Hermann Invitational at Loutre Shore Country Club.

Sullivan captured the boys crown with 59 points. Pacific placed second with 86 points followed by Owensville (97), Chamois (97), New Haven (116), Christian (130), Union (146), Hermann (150) and Wellsville (194).

Owensville claimed the girls crown with 26 points. Pacific finished second with 47 points followed by Union (101), Sullivan (111), Elsberry (117), Columbia Independent (150) and Chamois (166).

Pacific’s Ashley Brinker won the girls race in a time of 20:41.

“Ashley ran a gutsy and intelligent race,” said Pacific Coach Justin Perriguey. “She managed her energy and used her 800-meter track speed to come from behind to get the win over the last half mile.”

Also running for the Lady Indians were Hannah Graf (fourth), Kashmir Curtner (11th), Sarah Turner (19th), Morgan Webb (20th), Catherine Hayden (22nd), Jeanina Gruendler (33rd), Karissa Archambault (38th), Katee Moore (46th), Carly Lindwall (51st) and Dana Gan (66th).

The Indians were led in the boys race by Jeremy Hill, who finished fifth in 17:57.

Other Pacific runners were Dan Dieckmann (ninth), McCoy Meshach (16th), Zach Myers (24th), Isaiah Hudson (32nd), Spencer Torwegge (40th) and Ryan Lause (44th).

“We ran our best team race by far,” Perriguey said. “The boys had a goal and really stuck to it.”

Pacific finished third in the JV boys standings.

John Whitelock finished the race second in 20:27.

Also running for Pacific were Andrew Jablonowski (10th), Curtis Paglusch (17th), Nathan Callies (20th) and James Gan (25th).

In the middle school girls race, Pacific’s Paige Meshach won in 9:46. Middle school races go for 2.4 kilometers, slightly less than a full varsity race.

Also running were Riley O’Neill (eighth), Breanna Van Meter (ninth) and Lexi Delmain (38th),

In the middle school boys race, McKenzie White finished sixth in 9:27.

Also running were Corbin White (17th), Alex Bodi (24th), Cody Conway (40th) and Connor Robinson (42nd).
