Brad Carpenter has picked up where he left off last spring’s varsity golf season.
After finishing in a third-place tie at the MSHSAA Class 4 championships last season, Washington’s Carpenter continued the hot start to his junior campaign with the top overall score Monday at the Bogey Hills Invitational at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles.
Carpenter carded an 18-hole round of 71, which was the best score in the tournament.
The Blue Jays finished second in the Blue Division team standings with a score of 313.
Also playing for the Blue Jays were Colbey Schuster with 76, Mark Stahlhuth with 79, Sebastian Hommes with 87 and Hunter Mahon with 89.
Timberland won the Blue Division title with 309 followed by Washington with 313, Lutheran St. Charles with 321, St. Charles West with 323, Francis Howell North with 325, Francis Howell with 330, Holt with 332, Francis Howell Central with 339 and Ft. Zumwalt West with 353.
Warrenton claimed the White Division title with a team score of 343.
Ethan Luecke of Warrenton had the top individual score in the White Division with a round of 80.
Also playing for the Warriors were Chase Nelson with 82, TJ LaFaver with 89, Curtis Bauer with 92 and Luke Hawley with 93.
Playing for The Fulton School at St. Albans were Sam Smalley with 88, Skyler Savoy with 92, Paul Hofstetter with 95 and Alec Loyd with 101.
