Pacific Swim Team Opens With Victory

Pacific opened its swim season with a home victory last Monday over Indian Hills, 289-232.

“We swam really well for our first meet of the year. It’s awesome to start with a win,” said Pacific Head Coach Hart Hillhouse. “We were missing a couple of our top swimmers and we still found a way to win by over 50 points.”

Pacific’s winners in the individual medley races were Elizabeth Wamsley, Livi Lindemann, Nick Wamsley, Lexi Delmain and Connor O’Leary.

Second-place finishers in the individual medley were Matthew Wamsley, Ryan Sauvage, Lizi Delmain, Ashton Moore and Kaitlyn Delmain.

In the freestyle event, winning for Pacific were Gabrielle Mattli, Elizabeth Wamsley, Lillian Hardcastle, Nick Wamsley, Bella Sauvage and Ricky Meyers.

Second-place finishers were Rachel Jones, Ryan Sauvage, Elizabeth Mattli, Ashton Moore, Melissa Silistria and Joseph Schimsa.

Next in the meet was the breaststroke.

Pacific’s winners were Ian Cox, Jenna Raab, Matthew Wamsley, Livi Lindemann, Ryan Sauvage, Taylor Barnes and Joseph Schimsa.

Second-place finishers were Rachel Jones, Adam Van Winkle, Maggie Donnelly, Tim Toney, Brigid Toney and Connor O’Leary.

In the freestyle relay, Pacific’s winners were girls 9-10, girls 11-12, boys 11-12, girls 13-14, boys 13-14, girls 15-18 and boys 15-18.

The next event was the backstroke.

Pacific’s winners were Gabrielle Mattli, Ian Cox, Jack Post, Lillian Hardcastle, Lexi Delmain, Kaitlyn Delmain and Ricky Meyers.

Second-place finishers were Emily Bratch, Meg Meyers, Connor Robinson, Mackenzie Ekren, Coleman Kuseliauskas, Melissa Silistria and Joseph Schimsa.

In the butterfly event, winners for Pacific were Gabrielle Mattli, Ted Toney, Livi Lindemann, Nick Wamsley, Ashton Moore and Ricky Meyers.

Second-place finishers were Bella Sauvage, Melissa Silistria and Connor O’Leary.

The final event of the meet was the medley relay.

Pacific’s winners were girls 9-10, girls 11-12, boys 11-12, girls 13-14, boys 13-14 and boys 15-18.

Pacific visits Woodsmill Monday at 6 p.m. The next home meet is June 25 against Royal Acres at 6 p.m.

“The season looks to be pretty bright for us,” Hillhouse said. “Hopefully we can continue to have good practices and keep continuing our progress.”
