Meramec Lakes Golf Course in St. Clair hosted a Franklin County Junior Tournament.

A total of 29 boys and girls ages 6-14 participated at Thursday’s golf tournament.

“The weather was great, the number of kids we had golfing was good and everyone had fun,” said Meramec Lakes PGA Professional Scott Brauer.

Future tournaments for the junior golf program are scheduled for July 18 at Sullivan Golf Club and Aug. 1 at Franklin County Country Club.

Call any of the participating courses to register.

“Overall, the Franklin County Junior Golf Program is doing very well,” Brauer said. “Some of the kids we’ve had playing are getting to the point where they’re ready for the Gateway PGA Junior program, and that’s the idea. We serve as a feeder program for that.”
