Washington Track Teams Place Seventh at Warrenton

Washington’s boys and girls track and field teams both finished in seventh place Friday at the Warrenton Invitational.

Troy (89.5 points) edged Union (89) points to claim the girls title. The Lady Jays scored 60 points.

Holt (110) got past Ft. Zumwalt East (109) to take the boys title. The Blue Jays scored 38 points.

Lady Jays

Abby Stricker won the high jump, clearing 4-10, and was fifth in the pole vault at 8-6.

Kirstie Leslie won the pole vault, clearing 10-0.

Abi Brown finished second in the 100-meter high hurdles in 15.94.

Emily Stricker was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 13.35.

Megan Bauche placed fifth in the long jump at 13-11 3/4 and sixth in the 100-meter high hurdles in 17.98.

Abigail Mellovitz finished seventh in the shot put at 29-2 1/2.

Sarah Brock was eighth in the long jump at 13-7 1/4.

Ashley Garrard ended eighth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:48.8.

Kayla Rugen was eighth in the shot put at 29-1.

The Lady Jays were second in the 800-meter relay in 1:52.39 and sixth in the 400-meter relay in 54.84.

Blue Jays

Adam Jones placed third in the 400-meter dash in 52.79.

Max Phinney finished fourth in the long jump at 19-1 1/4.

Trevor Shockley was fourth in both the discus at 129-9 and the shot put at 42-5 1/2.

Dillon Quaethem placed fifth in the high jump at 5-8 and seventh in the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.16.

Ian Smith finished fifth in the 3,200-meter run in 10:45.83.

Taylor Juergens was eighth in the 800-meter run in 2:11.88.

Travis Elbert ended eighth in the 1,600-meter run in 4:54.33.

The Blue Jays finished seventh in the 800-meter relay in 1:38.32, seventh in the 1,600-meter relay in 3:47.36 and eighth in the 400-meter relay in 47.49.

Parkway South

Washington’s girls competed Saturday at the Victoria Reeves Invitational at Parkway South.

The highlight for the Lady Jays came in the pentathlon, where Kirstie Leslie won the event and Abi Brown finished second.
