Pacific opened its Four Rivers Conference schedule with wins over Sullivan and St. Clair.

The Indians won Tuesday, Oct. 2, at home over Sullivan 7-1 and Thursday, Oct. 4, at St. Clair, 9-2. They also won a nonconference game Wednesday, Oct. 3, over Maplewood, 4-0.

St. Clair

Tristan Moore scored three goals to lead Pacific to a 9-2 win at St. Clair.

The Indians held a 5-1 advantage at halftime.

“I don’t think the score is a real good indicator of how close the game was for a while. St. Clair played hard. We are going to have our hands full the next time we face them,” said Pacific Head Coach Todd Dempsey. “They outplayed us in the first 20 minutes of the game. We were able to open things up a bit before half with three goals.”

Jeremy Hardcastle added two goals and four assists. Todd D’Aquila registered one goal and two assists.

Alex Carlisle and Brandon Rowbottom both had one goal and one assist. Joon Kim also scored.

Mike Stinson played the first 60 minutes in goal for the Indians. Logan Armstrong took over for the final 20 minutes.

“Offensively, we did a good job of creating chances through our midfield play,” Dempsey said. “Jeremy Hardcastle and Tristan Moore both put together good performances.”

Terrance Stahlman and Matt Butler both scored their first career varsity goals for St. Clair.

Brayden Roberts and Stahlman both had one assist.

Reno Jones was in goal for the Bulldogs.

“We were in the game for a while. Good things were happening. We had some fight in us,” said St. Clair Head Coach Ted Koenigsfeld. “We scored two really good goals. Those were the bright spots. Defensively, we picked up our marks, but didn’t stay with them.”

Sullivan

Pacific opened FRC play with a 7-1 home win over Sullivan.

Tristan Moore scored two goals and added an assist for the Indians.

Hardcastle collected one goal and two assists. D’Aquila had one goal and one assist.

Carlisle, Rowbottom and Stinson each had one goal. Justin Moyle had one assist.

Stinson made seven saves in 62 minutes in goal. Charlie Brinker made three saves in the final 18 minutes.

“We started slow, but picked things up after giving up an early goal,” Dempsey said. “It was good to finally break the game open and give ourselves a little breathing room.”

Maplewood

Pacific won at home over Maplewood, 4-0.

Carlisle netted two goals. Brendan Gentry and Stinson both scored one.

D’Aquila collected two assists. Hardcastle and Tristan Moore both had one assist.

Stinson and Logan Armstrong combined for the shutout in goal, both registering one save.

“We had some younger guys step up and provide solid play,” Dempsey said.
