State Wrestling Update: Pacific's Repp Wins State Title

State Wrestling Update: Pacific's Repp Wins State Title By Missourian Sports Staff The Missourian

Pacific's Austin Repp won the Class 3 170-pound title contest against Winnetonka's Casey Bryan Saturday at Mizzou Arena, 1-0.

Also claiming a state title was Warrenton's JJ Filipek, who pinned Festus wrestler Dustin Politte. Filipek is Warrenton's first-ever state champion.

Five area wrestlers finished third in their respective weight classes. They were:

• Washington's Cole Hamai (138);

• Washington's Spencer Baird (152);

• Union's Dalton Kuenzel (160);

• Washington's Kyle Summers (170); and

• Owensville's Alton Harrell (195).

Harrell won third in Class 2 while the others competed in Class 3.

Earning fifth-place medals were:

• Pacific's Jeff Miller (132); and

• St. Clair's Matt Gordon (195).

Miller competed in Class 3 while Gordon was in Class 2.

Earning a medal for sixth place was:

• Washington's Caleb Summers (160) in Class 3.

Washington paced area schools by finishing sixth in Class 3 with 79.5 points.
