St. Clair registered a 1-4 record in dual meets last Saturday at the Ste. Genevieve Tournament.

“We wrestled well at times on Saturday and at other times our youth really showed,” said St. Clair Head Coach Brent Yule. “We had a couple of kids out of our lineup because of injury. It was a good day to gauge where some of our upper class kids are in terms of skill and conditioning.”

Matt Gordon (195) led the Bulldogs in the tournament with four wins. Dustin Conner (170) won three matches.

“We had some great individual efforts by Matt Gordon,” Yule said. “He pinned the third-ranked kid in state and lost in double overtime to the fifth-ranked kid in state.”

Kris Heembrock (106), Ethan Koenig (113), Chase Cohen (126) and Colton Huddleston (285) each had two wins.

Chris Algiere (120), Austin Koenig (132) and Tyler Fisher (285) each notched a win.

The Bulldogs’ lone win came over Farmington, 37-33.
