Area Players Named to MSSA All-District Class 4 Football Team

Football players from a number of Class 4 football schools now can add additional honors to their achievements from the 2012 season.

The Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association East Central District recently concluded balloting for this year’s postseason honors.

The district includes Franklin, Warren, St. Charles, Lincoln and Montgomery counties.

Sullivan’s Pat Burke, who led the Eagles to the Class 4 quarterfinals with a final record of 12-1, was the unanimous choice for coach of the year.

St. Clair’s Kyle Juergens, the Four Rivers Conference offensive player of the year, was selected as the first team quarterback.

At running back, Sullivan’s Justin Biermann was a unanimous choice for the first team. Rickey Grivetti of St. Clair also made the first team.

Sullivan’s Clayton Mayer was on the second team.

At the receiver spots on the first team, Sullivan’s Adam Weiland was a unanimous choice while Union’s Logan Bellamy also was on the first team.

Second-team picks were Borgia’s Tony Helfrich and Robbie Vossbrink, St. Clair’s Evan Powell and Union’s Jobie Richardson.

On the offensive line, Sullivan’s Gus Hecht was a unanimous first team selection. Also making the first team were Sullivan’s Dalton Turner and St. Clair’s Jake Yerkey.

Second team offensive linemen were St. Clair’s Jake Oermann, Sullivan’s Jeremy Stumpe and Borgia’s Clayton Pezold.

In the athlete category, Sullivan’s Justin Biermann was a unanimous pick. St. Clair’s Adam Brott was the second team choice.

Sullivan’s Jake Lochner was the unanimous first team selection for kicker.

On the defensive side of the ball, Seth Mesey of Sullivan was a unanimous first team selection. Jake Yerkey of St. Clair also made the first team.

Second team picks included Sullivan’s Mitch Paneitz and Pacific’s Jeff Hinkle.

At linebacker, Sullivan’s Dalton Turner was a unanimous first team selection. Borgia’s Evan Zeitzmann also made the first team.

Second team picks included Union’s Cody Pace, Pacific’s Dalton Voyles and St. Clair’s Josh Martin.

At the defensive back spots, the first team included St. Clair’s Adam Brott (the Four Rivers Conference defensive player of the year) and Sullivan’s Justin Biermann.

Second team picks included St. Clair’s Rickey Grivetti and Kyle Juergens.

At punter, St. Clair’s Adam Brott was the first team selection while Borgia’s Tony Helfrich was voted the second team pick.
