Hitting the road Monday night, the Union basketball Lady ’Cats (4-20, 0-7) fell at De Soto, 49-29.

Union led 16-12 at the half.

“We played a great first half and then imploded in the second half,” Union Head Coach Dusty Weiskopf said. “We gave up 37 points in two quarters.”

De Soto concentrated on stopping Bri Clark and the Lady ’Cats struggled to make up for that.

“They did a nice job at taking Clark out of the game,” Weiskopf said. “I thought we executed our game plan for two quarters and then we did not. I thought they did a nice job at speeding up the game which hurt us. We have to get our minds right heading into districts, but before that we have a tough game against North County tonight (Tuesday).”

Junior Kayla Kelly led Union in scoring with eight points.

Sophomore Cassidy Terrill was next with seven points.

Clark ended with four points while seniors Megan Altemueller and Ali Overstreet scored three points apiece.

Sophomore Haley Cluck had two points. Sophomore Erika Jeffries and Christina Overstreet scored one point apiece.
