Dipping down to the junior varsity level, Borgia’s wrestling program took three athletes to two tournaments this past weekend.

On Friday, the Knights wrestled in the Owensville JV Tournament. Jacob Sander (132) placed first in his pool while Billy Rombach (182) was second and Dylan Voss (145) placed third.

On Saturday, the Knights wrestled in the Westminster JV Tournament. Voss was first in his pool while Sander and Rombach each took second.

“I thought it was a great showing at both tournaments considering we were wrestling athletes with comparable experience levels,” said Borgia Head Coach Brad Jacquin. “It really shows that the hard work they have been putting in is really starting to pay off and really show in their performance on the mat. We plan to continue improving and have a positive showing at the district tournament.”

Borgia had been scheduled to compete in the University City Tournament this weekend, but has withdrawn.
