Several area golfers competed this week at the Missouri Stroke Play Championship held at Winghaven Country Club.

Ballwin’s Sam Migdal won the four-round tournament with a total score of 285. He shot rounds of 74, 71, 71 and 69.

Jeremy Franklin of St. Louis was second with a total of 287 and rounds of 71, 70, 75 and 71.

Alex Cusumano of St. Louis and Travis Mays of Overland Park, Kan., tied for third at 288. Cusumano shot 72, 71, 73 and 72 in the four rounds. Mays shot rounds of 74, 71, 71 and 72.

Skip Berkmeyer of Wildwood was fifth at 289, shooting rounds of 76, 70, 72 and 71.

The highest area finisher was Washington’s Ryan Eckelkamp, who tied for sixth with a total of 291. He shot rounds of 73, 74, 73 and 71. Also shooting 291 was Chris Kovach of St. Louis.

Washington High School graduates Brad Carpenter and Matt Hoemann were among a four-way tie for 29th at 303.

Carpenter, a Missouri State University golfer, had rounds of 81, 71, 74 and 77. Hoemann, who will play for the University of Central Missouri, shot rounds of 79, 75, 74 and 75.

Also tying for the spot were Jamie Hathcock of Springfield and Nick Sheppard of Kansas City.

Washington’s Austin Hoerstkamp, the recent Country Club of St. Albans men’s stroke play champion, tied for 56th with a score of 314. He posted rounds of 80, 75, 79 and 80. The Borgia graduate and future Missouri S&T golfer tied Brady Dixon of Mounds, Ill., Conrad Maloney of Wildwood and Thomas Weaver of St. Louis.
