According to Flesher, fire damage was confined to the top apartment only, with some water damage on the lower level.
There were no injuries and two dogs in the bottom apartment were unharmed.
St. Clair firemen also responded to the incident.

Fire Started by Attempted Squirrel Smoke-Out

A house fire that occurred Wednesday evening in Sullivan was started by an occupant attempting to smoke squirrels out from under their roof, according to Sullivan Fire Deputy Chief Larry Flesher.
Sullivan firemen was called to 57 Modern St. with the report of visible flames in the upper level of the residence. When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was coming out of the windows on the second floor. According to Flesher, fire damage was confined to the top apartment only, with some water damage on the lower level. There were no injuries and two dogs in the bottom apartment were unharmed. St. Clair firemen also responded to the incident.
