Mr. Vehige was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Lincoln County the son of Henry Vehige and wife Cecilia, nee Burkemper.
He was a farmer and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and charter member of Missouri Coon Hunters Association.
Mr. Vehige was preceded in death by his wife, Verona Vehige, nee Henningfeld, his wife Mary Vehige, nee Thompson, his parents, one son, Don Vehige, two brothers, Leander Vehige and Alphonse Vehige, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Vehige.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry (Jackie) Vehige, Foristell, and Kenny Vehige, Wentzville; one daughter-in-law, Joan Vehige, Raymore; two brothers, Clem Vehige and Jim (Carol) Vehige, both of Foristell; three sisters, Helen Halter, Wentzville, Marie Schneider, Warrenton, and Lorraine "Bobbi" (Leon) Routon, Indiana state; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 2, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wentzville.
Burial was in Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville.

Raymond B. Mechlin 1982 - 2009
Raymond Bryan Mechlin, 27, Wright City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, in Wright City.
Mr. Mechlin was born May 7, 1982, in St. Louis, the son of Kenneth P. Mechlin and Connie J. Williams Mechlin.
He was self-employed.
Mr. Mechlin is survived by his parents, Kenneth P. and Connie J. Mechlin, Wright City; his partner, Sarah R. Arnold, Wright City; two sons, Joseph R. Mechlin and Zachary B. Mechlin, both of Wright City; one brother, Joshua Adam (Annie) Mechlin, Wright City; two sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Mechlin, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ellen M. (Kevin) Guss, Warrenton; grandparents, Cora Williams, Foristell, and Raymond F. Mechlin, St. Louis; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 2, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
Burial was in St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles.
