Maniaci also said he enjoys movies that feature psycho killers, like "Silence of the Lambs" and demonic children like in "The Exorcist" because that makes the experience "extra creepy."
Dale Obermark, also a senior at Borgia, disagreed with Maniaci and finds that the scary movie industry is on a downward spiral.
"Every movie that comes out to the theater is mostly about demonized or psychotic children," he said. "I saw 'The Orphan' a while ago, and I was a little bored because I felt like I had seen it all before."
"I like classic horror movies, like 'Halloween,' " said Sam Tochtrop, a senior at Borgia "I'm not terrified by the new, more predictable ones."
"The best scary movie to watch on Halloween is definitely 'The Ring,' " said Lindsay Dobsch, a Borgia senior. "It makes me shiver and laugh at the same time."
"I like 'Strangers' because it does a good job of actually frightening me for once," said Alex DuMontier, senior at Borgia.
DuMontier's said his least favorite Halloween movie is 'Signs' because "it was a failed attempt at being at all scary."
Whether teens like the thrill of a sociopath serial killer or aliens landing in a cornfield, whatever movie they decide to watch with a few friends this Saturday, they should enjoy a frightening Halloween night.
