Get a Life, Marthasville Resident!

To The Editor:
To the Marthasville resident who addressed "Inappropriate for Public School," I have a child in the Washington Middle School and have had a child graduate from Washington High School, now in college.

Your letter was very disturbing and offending to me and my family. Our nation was built on religious freedom. "Fields of Faith" was not affiliated with the Washington School District. The school did not send information about the event home. The event was held after hours in the evening and was only voluntary.

You did not have to attend if you did not want to. There are many more things to worry about with our children than the location of where the "Fields of Faith" meet. Maybe we should be more concerned about when we drop our tweens and teenagers off at the movies and or the football games with no supervision. What are they actually doing?

Let's be more concerned about the drugs and alcohol in our county and schools, teen pregnancy, etc. I could go on!
Christian or not, we need to all wake up. We argue about prayer being allowed in our schools, we live in the United States of America, to be able to practice what faith we want or do not want.

Get a life, Marthasville resident!

jeez, can you even read?
that's what I said, bravo for saying you believe in teaching safe sex. and just an FYI, not all birth control is fool proof. There are plenty of people out there with kids that did everything they could to prevent pregnancy.

Teaching safe sex
NO I do not believe in teaching abstinence, I believe in teaching SAFE sex. I do not think preaching abstinence is the answer. Like I said in previous email "It aint gonna work." Some movie stars and entertainers, make the life style of having children with their partners look glamorous, as they have money for Nannies and other kinds of help. It is a different story for the average person. I hope this is my final email on this subject. I have to agree teen age pregnancy is on a rise. Cannot understand with so much birth control available at this time

Bravo Cindy
I believe firmly that teaching safe sex is going to do infinitely more good than teaching ONLY abstinence. Obviously, you want to promote abstinence, but at least give the kids the education and knowledge to make wise decisions.

Safe Sex talks
I like other persons feel, that their are a lot of babies being born to to single mother's. Many men who are fathering these babies are getting away with not paying child support. Several of these Women have to turn to the Government for help. If the schools and parents talked more to their children, re safe sex it would help. Am sure the religious talks are on NO sex, " it aint gonna happen"
